From Morocco to Byron Bay: A New Chapter for Rohi Threads

If you’ve been following along for a while, you may have noticed things looking a little different around here lately…

I’ve been keeping a little secret - Rohi Threads is now based in Australia 🤍

After spending over a year living in Morocco, sourcing rugs, wandering through souks, drinking endless mint tea, and completely falling in love with the artistry behind Moroccan craftsmanship and country, I originally returned to Australia for a visit.

But somewhere along the way, I realised it was time to come home.

And so began the very big task of moving an entire Moroccan rug collection across the world.

After months of planning (and a lot of patience), the rugs have officially landed in Australia - a moment that feels incredibly exciting and deeply full circle.

What This Means for Rohi Threads

While the soul of Rohi remains exactly the same, there are a few exciting changes.

Our entire collection is now based in Australia, which means:

✺ Easier and faster local shipping
✺ Opportunities to view rugs in person if you’re local
✺ In-home viewings across the Byron Bay & Gold Coast region
✺ Markets and pop-ups coming soon
✺ More beautiful vintage Moroccan rugs arriving regularly

For those who have followed Rohi from the beginning, nothing about the heart of the business is changing. Every rug is still handpicked slowly and intentionally, chosen for its story, craftsmanship, and character.

Morocco Will Always Feel Like Home

Although Rohi Threads is now based in Byron Bay, Morocco isn’t going anywhere.

It’s become very much a second home to me — a place that shaped not only this business, but also how I see home, beauty, craftsmanship, and slower living.

After spending over a year there, Morocco changed me in ways I never expected. It taught me to slow down, appreciate handmade things, and find beauty in pieces that feel lived in, imperfect, and full of story.

My partner is Moroccan, which means my connection to Morocco runs even deeper, and I’ll continue travelling back often to stay close to the people, places, and artistry that make Rohi what it is.

I’ll continue sourcing rugs directly and intentionally, always choosing pieces for their soul, craftsmanship, and story.

Because for me, this has never been about trends or mass-produced interiors.

It’s about soulful pieces, meaningful homes, and collecting things that feel like they have a story to tell.

Looking Ahead

This next chapter feels really exciting.

More rugs, more markets, more opportunities to connect in person, and hopefully even more beautiful homes filled with pieces collected from Morocco and brought home to Australia.

Thank you for following along and supporting Rohi — whether you’ve been here from the beginning or you’re just discovering us now.

I can’t wait to share what’s next 🤍
